Jacqueline Erickson
Social enterprise pioneer
Jacqui started a social enterprise in remote central Queensland, where she operated a wilderness centre for young people, financed by a program of tourism and educational programs on the property. With a history in PR and journalism, organisation, event management and an interest in managing words and making small contributions to local communities, Jacqui is an active member of the regional community of Roma in south west Queensland (six hours from Brisbane) where she lives, taking on varied roles and challenges, including:
- managing the operations, marketing and development of the State’s premier country race club, including their events on course with the largest raceday in country Queensland, and contractor to the Gympie Music Muster
- as secretary, supported and developed local rugby club event program (7s competition, rugby race day, premier rugby festivals)
- a member of Management committees for Commerce Roma, Roma Bungil Art Gallery, former Roma Council town advisory group, Roma Tourism and Enterprise Facilitation workshops- started own creative agency servicing local business
- offering services as a Celebrant
